Just to be clear, this isn't finished. There are supposed to be two more levels. I did this as a test to see how far I'd get in 10 days or so. I'll continue when I've time...

Even so, this is an excellent effort for the time you put into it! I did come across a couple of issues which I mailed you about earlier but all in, I think it's a great example of how quickly you can put something together.

There's a slightly later version of this here: http://patrickdunn.squarespace.com/stor ... eneric.htm.

I think as a result of perhaps over-complex construction on my part some of this wasn't working particularly fluently (some mouse clicks weren't being recognised). Thanks to Neville I'm happy that this is usable now. The only question is whether I'll finish it off or not...

I had a play of this game, you've used alot of good ideas and i was very impressed.

I was wondering, there was the scene where the fax machine gives you a fax and you have it pop up on screen so the user can read it. How did you do this if you don't mind me asking? I'm currently building a level where characters hand you reports, and if i could do what you've done, that would be awesome.

Hi Gareth, the way we do it here is to create a custom interaction with the background image set to the dds image of the document that you want to show, whether it is scanned from a hard copy or screen grabbed from a screen. Then you can either have a submit button taken from your games theme, use one of the game's defaults or create a transparent button and layer it across the document so that when you click on the document it carries on in the logic.

Hope this helps

Incidentally, I'm using Paint.net as my default graphics package now to produce dds files for TWs. It's obviously not as sophisticated as Photoshop, but it's just so quick to fire up and use, and I like how easy it is to produce transparency effects. It's not quite as good at doing sophisticated blurs though - but it's free!
