Exporting Video

Postby active851 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:27 pm

Hi,

When I've used a video clip in a scene, I can export the journey as Standalone platform but I get the following message when attempting to export as to an internet platform: 'Video can not be used within internet exports'.

I'm trying to create a SCORM compliant journey that I can import onto our LMS that includes an .mpg.

Can you tell me if there's a workaround for this or if I've missed something?

Thanks.

Hi

Thinking Worlds 3.2 does not support video on web deployed games.
However, I can conifirm that Thinking Worlds 3.3 will support this feature.

Hi there Neville, when will Thinking Worlds 3.3 be available? Presumably this will be a free "patch" to download and install?

As a work around, can you not convert a video into a .swf and use that within Thinking Worlds?

Thanks

Hi

Thinking Worlds 3.3 will be released next week. It will be a full download and also patch to exisitng users.

SWF files, like video, cannot be used in web deployed games in Thinking Worlds 3.2, but both will be web deployable in Thinking Worlds 3.3.

Hi Neville

Is the v3.3 patch going to able to be applied to the trial software too (please, please, please)?

Assuming it will be, where will the patch be available from, and how will we know it's been released?

Thanks for the great product, and even better support.

Hi Pete

The patch will be available as a trial in its own right and so you will be able to try out the 3.3 features.
We will be anouncing 3.3 via this forum and also on ThinkingWorlds.com

Looks a bit like the 'next week' release date for 3.3 was a bit ambitious  . (or maybe I've just missed the announcement?)

Anyone got any news on the 3.3 release?

Hi Pete,

No, you haven't missed the announcement, we're still on the brink of releasing it. It is going to happen and you will be informed, you can count on that! (As long as you're on our mailing list that is)...anyone who has downloaded a trial in the last 4 months will automatically be part of any announcements so if this is you, then the minute it's released, you'll be sent an email.

Thanks,
Lee.
