Character & vertex lighting

Postby Veko » Wed Apr 20, 2011 1:41 pm

I'm trying to export my skinned character with the caspian Utils, but everytime I export my vertexpaint is not exported with the model.
Is there a limit to the vertex information stored in the .model ? (skinning vs. lighting ?)

If I remove the skin modifier, the model exports perfectly with the vertexpaint applied.

Hey Vecko,

Unfortunately, vertex lighting on characters is not supported at this time. Our exporter sets all character vertex colour to full white. I think we should allow the artist flexibility to choose this, so I am making a request to see if we can have this option in the exporter.

For now, the best solution would be to put your lighting in the texture.
