Thinking Worlds - future enhancement requests

Postby somersetpaddy » Tue Nov 24, 2009 6:14 pm

I just thought I'd get this thread going as a place where users can note requests/ideas for future developments/enhancements of TW. I understand Caspian get a lot of requests on email. How about we put them all here so we can see!

A quick, simple one: I'd love to be able to move around the Scene Flow by dragging the surface (as in various mindmapping packages, Photoshop etc.).

Hi Patrick

As of Thinking Worlds 3.1 youcan do just that. Hold down the mouse wheel, move the mouse and the scene flow canvas will follow your movements.

Hi,

I was looking for something else - but discovered this thread, so here is my wish list:

- More space in the boxes to write text e.g. checkbox answers, label question text
- A preview option for questions/communications/conversations form the authoring tool (so that we can check the text fits the boxes quickly and easily)
- A way to publish a preview without the program automatically saving: sometimes it would be useful to test different options without having them saved
- A printable user guide!

My wish list in no particular order:

1. Editable Splines
2. Ability to delete nodes using the delete key.
3. Ability to customize player controls (ie. remap keyboard to WASD, walk/strafe, mouse as point of view)
4. Fixing collisions with self in first person view when clicking entities.
5. Fixing collisions with environment in first person view.
6. Ability to animate player character using splines and markers during cinematics.
7. Access to code library.
8. Ability to use the same name for an object after its been deleted (most trouble is with splines when there not drawn correctly and can't edit them).
9. Undo in Scene Flow.(Ctl+Z, Ctl+Y)

Thanks! :D

These :)

+ addition to 1:
1b. possibility to invert a spline with a checkbox or something (swapping the points in the array to back to front instead of front to back)
